Will Hammell (1896-1972) of Red Bank, New Jersey was primarily a commercial artist, and is best remembered as the creator of the ‘balloons’ logo for Wonder Bread. In the late 1920’s, Hammell did several beautiful pin-ups for the highly regarded Thomas D. Murphy Calendar Company, and many more for Philadelphia’s Joseph C. Hoover publishers in the 30’s. Most of his pin ups were signed either “Q. Wilson Hammell”, or “R WIlson Hammell” and liked dark backgrounds. There is a border around the image. The image size is correct. Many sizes available.
