Product Overview
Poster advertising Cosmydor soap. The rich colors are meant to reflect what the soap will do to one's complexion and skin. Known as the father of the modern poster, Jules Chéret (1836 – 1932) was a French painter and lithographer. He worked on everything from theater to advertising. Here advertising Cosmydor soap, Chéret has drawn on one of his compositional standbys: an attractive and fashionably dressed young woman shown using the featured product. The artist's use of cross hatched lines to create tonal shading in the woman's face, wrists and décolleté is clearly visible. There is a border around the image. The image size is correct. Many sizes available.
