The turn of the century progress in electricity with new discoveries and its ability to distribute, the populace clamoured for a glimpse of these innovations. Pavilions and Exhbitions and trade fairs filled this need and curiousity. David Dellepiane (1866-1932) represented electricity as an Electricity Fairy high above the exhibition grounds of Marseilles, France. Made as an allegorical figure, gave a human face to a physical phenomenon not easily viewed. Fancy graphics were used frequently to not only grab attention but to introduce the public to this science and "sell" them on it. There is a border around the image. The image size is correct.
