Art by Lawson Wood, sometimes Clarence Lawson Wood, (23 August 1878 – 26 October 1957). He was an English painter, illustrator and designer known for humorous depictions especially a chimpanzee called Gran'pop, whose annuals circulated around the world. This February 24th, 1940 Collier's magazine cover shows an older chimpanzee in clothes, smoking, and riding skis while a younger chimp pushes with the poles. There is a border around the image.
