Product Overview
Owing to the high cost of building sites in the large cities of the Unites States the method of srteel frame building has been adopted. The skeleton of the building consists of steel girders, the walls being comparatively thin, and inserted like panels in a door. Brick and stone buildings cannot be taken more than 12 to 14 stories high owing to the thickness of the walls required, but steel frame edifices of over 60 stories have been erected in New York. - There is a border around the image.
